Its Spring in wine country and the growing season will be upon us shortly! Pruning is ahead of schedule and the 2019 polar vortex wasn’t quite as cold as predicted. We reached -5.7 degrees farenheight. While this is cold and we had a long duration at this temperature early assessment looks positive. Be sure to ask our knowledgeable team about all the happenings on our farms on your next visit!
We acquired a premium 16 acre vineyard parcel within arms reach of the winery. This will grant us continued growth of our estate wine portfolio. The entire vineyard is on a south slope and our initial planting was 2.5 acres of Cabernet Franc in 2018. Our 2019 vineyard expansion on this site will include Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
